Job Summary:

In this role, you will plan, develop, and review mechanical design work, produce drawings and documentation, and prepare 3D models for a project. You will coordinate with other disciplines, facilitate technical discussions, and review and approve drawings. You will solve complex technical issues and ensure mechanical designs comply with project standards.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Plans, develops, coordinates and reviews design work within a small-size Mechanical design work group on projects of medium size or assignments in support of global business unit

  • Produces drawings and documentation in accordance with established design and scope including design of mechanical and materials handling systems such as crushing plants, conveyors, stockpiles, pump stations and mill circuits.

  • Sound knowledge of design and drafting techniques, engineering drawings, graphic arts, reading of drawings, and reproduction methods used by the discipline.

  • Expertise in reading, interpreting and using related documents and drawings prepared by other project groups.

  • Knowledge of the application of engineering and construction materials related to design responsibilities.

  • Experience in design and drafting, including demonstrated expertise in a senior role.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bulk materials handling experience is essential.

  • Proven experience in engineering design tools such as Autodesk Inventor, Bentley MicroStation and Navisworks.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well with other team members.

  • Work with Senior designers in other disciplines to coordinate overall design and technical requirements.
