PROJECT OVERVIEW

TSF6 project is a BHP project for their Olympic Dam site in South Australia.

This includes the upgrade an existing tailings disposal system (comprising of charge centrifugal pumps & PD pumps, HDPE CS & HDPE pipelines) and the addition of a new tailings storage facility with a decant pumping system.

The Home Office team will be in a Brisbane location.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Piping Designer responsible for piping design and layout. Reporting to the Lead Designer, they will engage and interact with other Engineering disciplines, Construction and Procurement in developing plant layout.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Plans, develops, coordinates and reviews engineering work.

  • Coordinate assigned engineering work with other discipline groups.

  • To evaluate, select and supply standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria using independent judgment.

  • Participate in reviewing and checking designs and drawings.

  • Coordinate assigned work with other technical personnel as directed

  • Participate in team meetings and reviews and maintain interaction with engineers and other designers in all disciplines

  • Perform other duties as required by Bechtel management

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience.

  • Proficiency in the utilisation of 3D/2D drafting software e.g. Microstation, SP3D/PDS/Smartplant

  • A good understanding of constructability, operability and maintainability requirements.

  • A good understanding of Bechtel’s Engineering Department Procedures (EDP), relevant industry codes and standards affecting Civil, Site and Underground Services design drawings.

  • Inherent organisational ability in addition to the ability to communicate effectively.
