Bechtel has been awarded a contract to provide project management services for the Texas High Speed Rail Project. The Infrastructure team will support Texas Central Partners through the development phase, from February 2018 to mid-2019, which will be followed by the execution phase. When completed, the project will serve the 240-mile corridor between Houston and Dallas/Fort Worth, with a travel time of 90 minutes. Three stations are currently planned (Dallas/Fort Worth, the Brazos Valley, and Houston), and they will provide connectivity to highways and public transit networks. The bullet trains will carry commuters on regular intervals during peak and non-peak hours.
The TMF/MOW Facilities Manager is responsible for management and interface of TMF/MOW facilities’ construction scope along the entire alignment (various counties). Specific duties include:
Identifies and quantifies Train Maintenance Facilities and Maintenance of Way facilities needs and requirements for the system.
Provides input into the development of the TMF/MOW contract packages.
Scope, cost, and schedule analysis to determine if all critical path elements meet project milestones to reach financial close.
Represent TC at project meetings dealing directly with all project stakeholders including the railroad/transit authorities, construction contractor(s), design personnel, and other public agencies and utilities having jurisdiction.
Coordinating and communicating with internal and external stakeholders and supporting the Design-Build contractors by providing timely and accurate information and approvals as needed to further the project.
Provides technical analysis, cost analysis support, and reviews.
Coordinates, manages and reports on the overall TMF/MOW schedule, risks, and risk mitigation strategies to the TC.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university with 9-13 years of relevant experience or minimum of 15-19 years’ experience working in the construction industry and/or large-scale infrastructure projects; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
Demonstrated technical writing, data management, verbal communication, presentation, and teaching skills.
A firm understanding of project construction procedures, principles and concepts.
Knowledge and experience working on rail maintenance facilities and projects.
