New Delhi Execution Unit (NDEU) is an office of Bechtel India Private Ltd which offers Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and support services to diverse projects and other Bechtel offices worldwide. Bechtel India Private Limited is a wholly owned Bechtel company located in Gurgaon, on the outskirts of the Indian capital New Delhi.

Construction function in NDEU provides Field Non-Manual services, constructability support, construction automation support and various other home office construction services to our projects executed in New Delhi, including international jobsites.

Construction function is looking for construction professionals with field and construction automation experience to support the role of Construction Engineer in Construction Automation group in New Delhi office.

Construction Engineer will report to Construction Automation Supervisor and functionally report to Manager of Construction in New Delhi office. Construction Engineer shall be responsible to manage Q4 Safety Software (jobsite permitting software tool), conducting user training for field non-manual and craft workers, resolving rollout and setup issues and managing deployment schedules for multiple projects, supporting some of the activities described in the roles and responsibilities section below.

The key roles and responsibilities include, but not limited to :

  • Conduct user training for field non-manuals and craft workers on Q4 Safety (jobsite permitting software tool)

  • Provide end user support for software applications

  • Frequent travel to jobsites to support software deployment activities, user training and issue resolution

  • Acquire and maintain a detailed knowledge of Q4 Safety (jobsite permitting software tool) and supporting technologies through training, self-learning and on the job experience

  • Develop software deployment schedule that aligns with the project’s schedule, setting expectations and managing execution of that schedule

  • Provide demonstrations or product discussions/ pitches with senior project personnel and customers

  • Facilitate process discussions with project personnel to uncover opportunities to help streamline permit workflows

  • Review/trouble-shoot data for accuracy and completeness; Identify and address anomalies with information owners

  • Translate complex business requirements into streamlined automated processes utilizing provided tools

  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Qualification / Experience requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, IT, or Management or equivalent

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in EPC industry (2 years of field assignment preferred)

  • Ability to work independently, with strong communication, writing and problem-solving skills.

  • Candidate with direct exposure to and knowledge of safety permits used on jobsite such as Hot Work, Confined Space, Excavation & Trenching, Lifting Permits, Lock out/ Tag out, Work Authorization will be prefered.

  • Must have knowledge and understanding of Bechtel’s SWPPs, STCPs and CPs

  • Must have a good working knowledge of construction industry and processes

  • Critical thinking: ability to track down complex data and engineering issues and analyze data to solve problems.

  • Planning & estimation: ability to set and meet your own project objectives & milestones

  • Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally on short notice

  • Must be amenable to work in shifts

  • Advanced level knowledge of using MS Office suite of applications, especially Excel, Power Point and Word

  • Previous experience in a Construction or Startup field position is highly preferred

  • Experience managing craft is highly preferred

  • Experience with data automation

  • Experience with one or more of the following software products is desirable: TEAMWorks, SETROUTE, SSRS Reports, Power BI
