Position Summary:
India Country Controller responsible for Accounting, Audit and Regulatory compliance for Bechtel’s legal entities in India.
Major Responsibilities:
Coordinate with Service Centre for proper maintenance of books of accounts of all entities in India.
Review monthly financial schedules & advise appropriate actions.
Responsible for Finance related compliance including filing of tax returns [monthly, quarterly & annual] for multiple Bechtel entities in India.
Liaise with external advisors on matters relating to direct taxes, indirect taxes (GST) etc.
Review regulatory submissions including appeal documents drafted by advisors and approve them for filing.
Liaise with Bechtel tax department for directions, concurrence.
In conjunction with Bechtel Tax manage the APA program.
Statutory Audit planning in conjunction with PwC
Monitor the Audit work to assure completion as per timelines agreed.
Liaise with Bechtel Financial Accounting Team on matters related to PwC audit, Financial Statement.
Ensure compliance with Controller Procedures, Management Instructions, Policies and other documents related to corporate governance.
Manage cash flow and hedge program working alongside company’s Treasury department.
Coordinate with Company secretary on matters related Companies Act compliance in connection with Accounts/Audit.
Work in close conjunction with Shared Service center on all matters relating to accounting, audit, tax etc.
Liaise with Process owners, Financial Service Managers, Corporate Controllers, Directors of the entities, as may be required.
Provide support for smooth conduct of Internal Audit.
Support other functions and perform ad hoc assignment as requested.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Chartered Accountant with 10-13 years of experience of which 4-5 years as Country Controller in a corporate MNC environment.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Proficient in Accounting and good knowledge of Accounting Standard.
Well versed with audit requirements of corporate entities.
Experience of working with large audit firms.
Good knowledge of various regulations Direct taxes, Indirect taxes, Transfer Pricing, Companies Act
Excellent English communication skills, both written & verbal.
High standard of ethics, integrity.
Ability to dive into details.
