Project Overview:

Pennsylvania Chemicals is a world-scale facility that will use ethane to produce 1.6 million tonnes of polyethylene per year. The project will involve up to 6,000 workers during its construction and is expected to employ 600 permanent employees when completed. The ethylene / polyethylene complex will be located in the Ohio River Valley north of Pittsburgh. It comprises an ethane cracker and three polyethylene units, plus OSBL including a gas-fired combined cycle cogeneration unit and a large storage-in-transit rail yard.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage project productivity program across all project locations, including performing productivity sampling of the various units on Pennsylvania Chemicals on a routine basis

  • Develop an integrated Six Sigma and Lean Construction program to increase craft productivity and time on tools

  • Report progress (metrics & dashboards) to Site Management, Contractor management and local building trades representatives

  • Identify focus areas (work processes or site conditions) for improvement

  • Solicit management and craft input to identify and frame key opportunities

  • Facilitate / drive productivity improvement meetings and progress

  • Champion project wide engagement (communications, milestones, recognition, etc.)

  • Coordinate contractor management engagement and participation

  • Interface with Safety, Quality, Performance (KPIs, PMPs) and Cost challenge programs

  • Coordinate lessons learned and best practice programs to assure implementation across the various units within Pennsylvania Chemicals

Basic Qualifications

  • Practical work experience in a construction role as a superintendent or field engineer

  • SIX SIGMA Black Belt certification and experience is preferred

  • Recognized degree in an engineering, construction or scientific disciplines

  • Ability to work under pressure to meet multiple deadlines simultaneously

  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization

  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Suite Applications - Excel, Word
