This position is for Bechtel Gurgaon, Vadodara & Chennai Office locations.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications.

  • Performs engineering tasks, within a discipline, having some degree of complexity.

  • Performs assignments, which have clear and specific objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables for an engineering discipline within a global business unit.

  • Participates in the operation of a small size design group in a discipline.

  • Requires a good knowledge of design and drafting techniques, engineering drawings, SP3D, 2-D and 3-D CAD, reading of drawings and reproduction methods used by the discipline.

  • Directly performs the work includes the preparation of layouts, study drawings, nozzle orientations detailed 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models and construction drawings.

  • Monitors and checks work for compliance with approved design standards to provide quality design, reliable/safe plant operation and construction economy.

  • Prepares design and drafting procedures to standardize design effort.

  • Coordinates to resolve problems and interpret drawings and documents.

  • Reviews or defines engineering scope changes, as required, for project management.

  • Supports the creation of a work environment that fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.

  • Perform work in different sectors like Power, Oil and Gas Projects. Experience of Cryogenic Piping or LNG piping will be an added advantage.

  • Understands the inter disciplinary coordination on the project. Follows ES&H guidelines.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A recognized degree in a job-related engineering or scientific discipline from an accredited college or university, or a professional license in an appropriate engineering or scientific discipline from a recognized licensing board, or specialized courses in relevant general engineering, design or science or an appropriate engineering discipline.

  • Broad progressive work experience in design engineering, science or other relevant types of engineering such as systems startup, field engineering or plant operation in large industrial plants, utilities, process plants, or engineering/construction firms.

  • Broad knowledge of industry/regulatory codes and standards and design criteria pertinent to the discipline. Knowledge of systems, calculations, equipment, applications of methods, plant layout and materials (PMS/VMS) for preparation of analyses and development of piping deliverables. Knowledge and understanding of technical and cost issues related to selection of design features within the discipline. Knowledge of precedents in the discipline and of principles and practices of related disciplines. Knowledge of related construction practices and the economics involved.

  • Good working experience of 2-D and 3-D CAD tools (SP3D / E3D / Plant 3D) is a must for the development of conceptual designs and production deliverables on projects.

  • Knowledge of BIM and REVIT 3D applications will be an added advantage.
