Project Overview:

Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. We are partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline. Bechtel Manufacturing & Technology, Inc. offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the semiconductor manufacturing, electric vehicle, and data center markets. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, the M&T global business unit also includes colleagues working in Arizona, Ohio, Texas, India, and additional project locations around the world.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will plan architectural layouts, prepare detailed design and layout drawings for small structures. You will use 2-D/3-D computer-aided design (Revit) to help prepare architectural designs and construction drawings. You will help prepare forecasts, quantity take-offs, and change orders. Your recommendations for design solutions will help ensure client satisfaction with a project's architectural aspects. You will help manage sub-contractors that will be providing and installing architectural building materials and systems. #LI-AM3

Major Responsibilities:

  • Plans architectural layout, prepares detailed architectural design and layout drawings for small structures and portions of major buildings​

  • Prepares specifications and related documents​

  • Prepares building material interface details for review by senior personnel​

  • Participates in reviews and recommends approval of design drawings and data for compliance with requirements​

  • Prepares architectural designs and construction drawings using 2-D / 3-D computer aided design (CAD), presentation graphics and architectural models​

  • Coordinates work and collaborates with other engineering disciplines​

  • Prepares procurement and subcontract requisition documents and performs associated technical bid evaluations with award recommendations​

  • Participates in studies that require knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed in architectural work​

  • Assists in preparation of forecasts, quantity take-offs and change orders​

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A recognized degree in architecture or construction management from an accredited university or college and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Broad knowledge of design criteria pertinent to building design and construction.

  • Experience in resolving technical problems and the ability to articulate explanations.

  • Excellent listening, oral, and written communication, planning, and organizational skills.

  • Working knowledge of Revit and Navisworks.

  • A license to practice architecture from a recognized licensing board

  • Prior experience working on projects in one or more of the following market segments: Semiconductor, Electric Vehicle, Battery, or Data Center.

  • Previous experience preparing estimated quantities, job hour estimates, and schedule planning.

  • Working knowledge of the International Building Code (IBC)
