Project Overview:

Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. We are partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline. Bechtel Manufacturing & Technology, Inc. offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the semiconductor manufacturing, electric vehicle, and data center markets. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, the M&T global business unit also includes colleagues working in Arizona, Ohio, Texas, India, and additional project locations around the world.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the corrective action program, the Lessons Leaned program, and leading multi-discipline continuous improvement efforts and leveraging opportunities to resolve gaps and process problems that lead to declining performance or a significant impact on business/customer needs. You will engage with several project teams, including client and 3rd party to client companies, facilitate collaboration, and use technical tools to monitor, analyze, and evaluate solutions that resolve issues and mitigate risk. #LI-SM2

Client Success Alignment:

  • Track and understand the issues being identified by the project team (client, 3rd party to client, and Bechtel).

  • Ensure the different project Quality stakeholders are aligned with project corrective action program procedure and with the metric definition.

  • Lead the creation of corrective action program metrics and continuously maintain and improve the key performance indicators.

  • Collaborate with the project team to identify areas of improvement and initiatives to enhance the value we deliver.

  • Investigate the project issues by attending site walkdowns and provide in-depth analysis to the quality project groups to achieve mutual goals.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Manages the corrective action program.

  • Manage the Lessons Learned program.

  • Leads continuous improvement efforts under minimal supervision.

  • Participates in and leads small teams participating in continuous improvement efforts; independently identifies improvement opportunities of low/medium complexity

  • Learns to use intermediate and complex tools relevant to continuous improvement efforts being supported: Toolkit involves mastery of Six Sigma Yellow Belt Toolkit and moderate statistical analysis

  • Participates in the preparation and establishment of continuous improvement procedures, standardized metrics, lessons learned and best practices to ensure conformance to corporate/GBU/project requirements

  • Prepares continuous improvement reports to summarize results and to identify recommended improvement actions

  • Facilitates report-out of results and recommendations; leads sessions for report out of training process improvements

  • Monitors the implementation of continuous improvement actions to ensure the effectiveness of implementation

  • Learns to use intermediate causal analysis tools and facilitates and leads apparent cause evaluations to assist in the resolution of issues

  • Monitors implemented process management systems to ensure continued process stability and performs basic statistical validation

  • Coordinates with management on requests from engineering, construction, procurement, and others with assistance with implementing/conducting continuous improvement efforts

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience

  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification Required; Six Sigma Master Yellow Belt or identified Six Sigma Black Belt Candidate

  • Certified Causal Analysis Lead

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Construction, Business Administration).

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Corrective Action Program (CAP) role, preferably in a Construction environment.

  • Experience working with multidiscipline (Engineering, Construction, Procurement) organizations as project stakeholders.

  • Proven track record of successfully implementing process improvements.
