Bechtel Corporation 2019 Student Internship (U.S.) - Process Engineer ( KY) in RICHMOND, Kentucky

Process Engineering Interns work in multidisciplinary teams and provide support to the design of large-scale chemical manufacturing facilities and related processes. 


The total number of interns and start dates are subject to workload and business conditions. Locations will vary based on project needs, and may include Houston, TX, along with various project sites.

General Job Duties:

Process Engineering Interns may be responsible for:

determining the sequence of operations and the selection of equipment and operating conditions required to convert a feedstock into products;

generating Process Flow Diagrams, Heat & Material Balances and Process Datasheets;

designing the Relief System; and

supporting disciplines to ensure that process design intent is maintained throughout the work of the downstream design disciplines.

Basic Qualifications

 Currently enrolled in a four-year Bachelor of Science degree program in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering at an accredited college or university.

Completed at least one year of undergraduate studies in one of the above fields.

Ability and willingness to relocate and/or travel to domestic and/or international project jobsites. 

Possess the eligibility to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.

Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Preferred Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a Master of Science degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering at an accredited college or university.

Completed relevant coursework with a strong GPA. 

Prior co-op or internship experience. 

Excellent written and oral communication skills.
