The Blue Grass Project has a need for short term assignment. This assignment is approximately 6 months .

This project office is located in the city of Richmond, KY with the Plant site located approximately 5 miles away on the Blue Grass Army Depot.

Work Location: BGCAPP -Madison County, KY or Richmond, KY in town office. Based on project goals and objectives, candidates established within our local community are desirable.

During operations, this project will be subject to the Army Regulations (AR50-6 Chemical Surety) which governs persons performing work under the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP) and Unescorted Access Program (UAP). Depending on the work performed and the access granted a government security investigation and other physical requirements such as respirators may be mandated. Eligibility to be placed in a PRP or UAP position requires US citizenship.

Role Overview:

Primary responsibility will be to support design completion, systemization (start-up), and operations at the chemical demilitarization facility. Performs electrical engineering activities for plant modifications, which include as a minimum the development/revision of basic discipline drawings, such as schematics, block diagrams, one line diagrams, wiring diagrams, SETROUTE, BlockDraw, equipment/cable sizing, and specifications for equipment where deviations from standard documentation is required. Works under the direction of more senior engineers/designers and may have junior level engineers/drafter subordinates. Responsible to produce the electrical portion of systemization turnover packages. Conducts checking as required. Properly interprets and applies codes & standards and customer design requirements, for the preparation of electrical design documents, specifications, and system descriptions related to design tasks.

Must be a self-starter and capable of independent creative design, with direction, using Bechtel and industry proven concepts, and procedures. Must work well with others, other disciplines, and groups. Successful candidate will be assigned various plant systems, which will include electrical systems as well as mechanical and instrumentation and control systems.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering with 6 years of related electrical design experience

  • Must be a US Citizen.

  • Must be able to obtain a site security badge

  • Must be physically fit and able to work safely at a construction site

  • Minimum 5 years experience with industry wide electrical design tools, such as CAD 2D and cable designing and routing software

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have 6 years of experience in Electrical Engineering developing documentation for Conceptual, Preliminary and Final Design.

  • FE/EIT Certification or able to obtain within 12 months of employment

  • Extensive knowledge of NEC code and ANSI/IEEE Standards

  • Extensive knowledge on electrical systems, schematics and electrical equipment layouts

  • Must understand the SETROUTE program, and be able to input and complete corrections in the data base

  • Must be able to obtain a site security badge

  • Must be physically fit and able to work safely at a construction site

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS degree in Electrical Engineering with 4 years of related electrical design experience

  • PE License Certification

  • Previous Bechtel and/or DOD or DOE project experience
